Inspire me Wednesday #13

Ryan Hall, one of America’s premier marathoners may have missed the NYC marathon last weekend due to injury, but that doesn’t mean his talents can’t be inspiring for us all.

Especially when ASICS set up a treadmill so that us mere mortals can get a taste of what it’s like to run as fast as Hall, even if it is only for a few hundred yards. Hall of course keeps it up for 26.2 miles…

We may never be able to run as fast as Ryan Hall. We may never even want to. But geez it is inspiring to see what people can achieve with some lucky genes and lots and lots of hard work, unyielding determination and the will to be the best they can be.

Happy running everyone!

Hi, I’m Bernie and I’m a just guy who writes about the things which get me going and get me running, even though my running is never going to result in me standing on a podium!

  1. Wow! That really does put it into perspective!

  2. Insane! I could never have stride turnover like that!

    • I would need to warm up for a couple of km before I would feel comfortable trying to run at that pace. I worked it out and my 400m time is run at the same pace (within 2 seconds/mile) of Ryan Halls MARATHON pace. I cannot even begin to fathom what that must feel like to run that fast, that long. Truly inspirational!
